The People

Novenary is made up of a team of individuals who are all passionate and dedicated in the mission to ensure self-care is an essential way of daily life.

We have connected and bonded over our own experiences of health and wellbeing and have each expressed ourselves through creating our products, content, art and music.

What does self-care mean to you?

Dedicating time to slow down and take time out from my day to day routine to enable me to focus on things that make me feel good.

What are the three things you do to unwind and relax?

Listen to music whilst taking a long bath, sit in a café with a cup of coffee and  watch the world go by, spend quality time with friends and family.

What does self-care mean to you?
Taking the time to listen to what my body and mind needs. Sometimes it's as simple as going out for a long walk, other times it could be saying no to someone or something in order to create space of stillness to reconnect with myself.

What are the three things you do to unwind and relax?
Escaping in to nature, creating art and creating moments of stillness, which traverses everything from gazing out at an ocean horizon to meditating.

Favourite poem: The Guest House by Rumi

What does self-care mean to you?

For me self-care is just being alone, taking my time to think, read and write, manifest my ideas and desires.

What are the three things you do to unwind and relax?

Little things go a long way, something as trivial as a cup of herbal tea, or putting a mask on my face or reading a good novel in a bathtub. If I'm feeling particularly tired or anxious I do a quick 15 minutes meditation.

Favourite quote/music/book?   ‘Everything you can imagine is real’ by Pablo Picasso. The book I pick up again and again is ‘Intention’ by Andrew Wallas. My music list always has a bit of Sade in it…

What does self-care mean to you?

Self- care for me starts with an appreciation and understanding for what I have that I am grateful for…mainly my health and the love and support I receive from my loved ones.

I try my best to maintain a sense of perspective and exercise the strength to recognise who I am as an individual and what is  right for me. It helps me know when I am veering off course and gives me the willingness to learn how to recognise it and importantly act on it with kindness.

- I practice Yoga alone to feel a sense of peace

Self-care is at the centre of my universe, I integrate soothing and indulgent actions as much as possible into every element of my life.

What are the three things you do to unwind and relax?

Listen to music whenever I’m travelling from A to B. Even if it’s a 5-minute stroll to get milk, I find that the sonics always level my mood pretty instantly.

I use a fab magnesium body spray before bed, it’s blended with chamomile, bergamot and clary sage – extremely relaxing!

I have a massage with a very talented body worker about once a month, and I attend gong meditations – both are marvellous for deep relaxation.
